IVJM Distinctives
There are a number of cool and unique things about IVJM. We think they are all great reasons to get involved.
A Missional Community
Be a part of making a difference in the place you live! Our small groups meet not only because we want to learn about God and enjoy being together, but also because we desire to see God renew Jester.
If a Bible study meets every week in a hall of Jester, we think it's reasonable to expect the hall to be a different place because of it. God's word is powerful and effective, and He has called us to be salt and light.
Sometimes the Christians living in Jester only practice their faith when they leave its walls. We want to see that change. Please join us!
Diversity in Unity
Too often the world sees only our disunity as Christians. And our combined Christian events are usually only that, "events". We have little space to build real relationships and learn from each other.
InterVarsity provides an opportunity for us to work together toward a common mission, across denominational and ethnic boundaries. You might be in a Bible study or a prayer meeting with Roman Catholics, Presbyterians, Methodists, Anglicans, Baptists, Charismatic and Bible church goers--all living in Jester and following Jesus together.
Though challenging, these will be some of the relationships you will always treasure because God will reveal His heart and character through them in new and unexpected ways.
Student Leadership
InterVarsity is the place to learn and develop your spiritual gifts. Our full-time staff's main job is to train and equip students, like you, to be the primary spiritual leaders of the community.
Consequently, at times our ministry lacks some polish and professionalism. However, by God's grace, we want to be a place where the next generation is able to learn on the job the character and skills of Biblical leadership.
